The State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA) is an Illinois organization for participants in the State Universities Retirement System (SURS). SUAA-UIUC is the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Chapter, one of multiple chapters located on Illinois Public University and Community College campuses. Use www.suaa.org, and this web site, to learn of our advocacy activities with the Illinois Legislature and other services for our members - current employees, retirees, their spouses and their survivors.
On May 8, 2015, the Illinois
Supreme Court unanimously ruled Public Act 98-599 (Pension Reform)
unconstitutional in its entirety. Once
again, the state legislature will be under pressure to enact reforms that
contain the costs of future pension obligations. Key issues of concern to our membership are
summarized in the:
2015 SUAA-UIUC Legislative Position Statement and
Fact Sheet (Revised)
